Preview a page in a browser tab
Open a web page or your local dev server in a tab next to your code.
A browser tab shows a web page inside Termul. Use it to check your app while you edit the code or while an agent works on it. You don't have to switch to another window.
Open a browser tab
Use one of these ways:
- Press
Ctrl+Shift+N(Cmd+Shift+Non macOS). - Click + (New tab) at the right end of the tab bar, then click New browser tab.
- Open the command palette with
Ctrl+K(Cmd+Kon macOS), then run New Browser Tab.
The new tab opens in the pane you are working in and loads Google. The tab shows the host name of the page, such as localhost:5173.
Go to a page
- Click the address bar at the top of the browser tab.
- Type the address.
- Press
Enter.
If you leave out http:// or https://, Termul adds https://. Most local dev servers use plain http, so type the full address, for example http://localhost:5173.
The buttons to the left of the address bar are Back, Forward, and Reload. A spinner shows in the address bar while the page loads.
Preview your dev server next to your code
- Start your dev server in a terminal tab, for example with
bun run dev. - Open a browser tab and go to the address the dev server prints.
- Move the browser tab into its own pane, so the page and your code are side by side. See Terminals for how to work with panes.
Click Reload after a change if your dev server doesn't refresh the page by itself.
Open terminal links in a browser tab
By default, Ctrl+click (Cmd+click on macOS) on a link in terminal output opens the link in your system browser. To open those links in a Termul browser tab instead:
- Open Settings with
Ctrl+,(Cmd+,on macOS). - Go to Behavior.
- Set Open Terminal Links In to Termul Browser.
Each link you Ctrl+click then opens in a new browser tab.
Close a browser tab
Click the x on the tab, or middle-click the tab. To close several at once, right-click a browser tab and click Close Other Browser Tabs or Close All Browser Tabs.
